The Panama Canal began this week the repair works of the critical points of the Omar Torrijos highway, in the section between the Summit Municipal Park and the town of Gamboa, in response to the concern of the residents and Canal collaborators who daily use the road.

After having the authorization of the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) and having complied with all the procedures for this type of interventions in a public road, the works began, whose duration has been estimated in approximately four months, in which an estimated area of 3,200 square meters will be intervened.

During these repairs, the previously identified slabs representing the critical points of the road will be demolished and replaced.

The area will be properly signposted, both during the day and at night, as well as staff in charge  of assisting drivers.
